Hel Pierre, Lille ca 1906
Born in Lille, France in 1884, died 1937. Son of Joseph Hel, equally important maker. He won several medals for workmanship at the exhibitions of ST Louis (USA)in 1904, Milan in 1906, Roubaix in 1911. He won medals on two violins for sound at the Geneva competition of 1927. His workmaship is impeccable and his instruments are famous for their sound quality. This violin was made after Stradivarius. The varnish is of a beautiful orange color. It was probably made around 1906. It does not yet bear the P.H within a circle found on later instruments.

Leon Mougenot dated 1912
Born in Mirecourt in 1874. he worked for Emile Laurent, E. Blanchard in Lyon, R. Lombard in Paris and Hill & Sons in London. He won a gold medal at an international exhibition in Nancy in 1909.

Luigi Castellani, Florence 1880
Antique and rare violin in excellent condition made during the last years of his life when he was working with Giuseppe Scarampella.
Luigi Catellani was born in 1809 in Florence and died in 1884. He was curator for the museum of music instruments of the Florence conservatory. He was also a double-bass player. He was associated to Giuseppe Scarampella as of 1866.

Emile Laurent
Rare violin made in the shop of Caressa Francais ca 1904, in mint condition and with an excellent sound, modeled after Johannes Baptista Guadagnini.
Emile laurent was born in Mirecourt in 1875 and died in Paris in 1941. He worked from 1894 to 1896 with Pierre Blanchard in Lyon from 1897 to 1902 with Emile Germain, then at Caressa et Francais till 1908. He was at the head of the Lyon & Healy workshop in Chicago from 1908 to 1912. He came back to France and worked in Bordeaux till 1925 and Paris till his death.

Fine violin in excellent condition.
Born in 1844 in Mirecourt and died in 1907 in Paris. He worked for Jean Baptiste Vuillaume in Paris, in Belgium, in England and in America. He came back to Paris in 1898 where he worked till his death. He copied various makers, specially Stradivarius. His violins are sought after for their workmanship and fine sound.

Fine violin in excellent condition. Powerful and brillant sound.
The Millant brothers are wellknown makers, established in Paris since 1923. Their are known for their impecable workmanship and fine varnish. In 1949 Max Millant won first price and a silver medal for a quartet presented at the a competition held in Cremona and the same year another first price for the same quartet presented in La Haye at an international competition.

Antonius & Hieronimus Amati, Cremona 1596
Rare and antique violin with all the tonal qualities one can expect from a Cremonese instrument.
The violin bears an original label dated 1596. The table replaced at a later date was made by Hieronymus the second around 1675-80 when his father Nicolo was still alive.
